Mistah Wilson has been a force for the local, native music scene in the Greater DENA region. Since 2014, he's compiled an extensive list of artist interviews and radio shows. With ThaWilsonBlock Magazine making major strides on it's own, Mistah Wilson is looking to stimulate the growth of the WilsonBlock100 Radio audience by simply doing more interviews more often.
"The magazine has been consistent since it's inception. Although WilsonBlock100 Radio has not yet lived up to it's true potential, I have a plan set in place to grow our audience," explains Mistah Wilson. "And we're going to do that by releasing more shows on a consistent basis." If you take a look at the Pasadena Music Scene Pinterest board, your screen will be swallowed up with a diverse and unified local music scene.
Mistah Wilson has clearly not been focusing on his YouTube channel, which explains why subscriptions are low. "He's always been more focused on the 'download' of his content," says an anonymous source. "At the rate that the internet is changing these days, I don't blame him." Mistah Wilson paid attention to the internet toll lanes that recently went up. The same toll lanes that have us DJ Akademiks says, "we're trappin' out tha bandwidth"paying for the amount of data we use. Those who've been paying attention are aware that we went from 'unlimited everything' plans to 'pay per use'. Like what was so wrong with Chirp phones and Nextel Walkie Talkies? Like
With WilsonBlock Wednesdays, Mistah Wilson isn't changing up much of how he conducts his interviews. As it stands, the show will remain an audio podcast. Mistah Wilson has told us that he simply needs to put more time and effort into his show so that it may also compliment it's counterpart, ThaWilsonBlock Magazine. One show per week is definitely a step up from 1 or 2 shows
At 10:00a every Wednesday morning starting February 22nd, 2017, Mistah Wilson will be publishing a new radio show with local, independent music, interviews, and urban discussion. This is also a great opportunity for aspiring artists & musicians who want to be a part of a growing movement. Artists in the Pasadena / Altadena region have undoubtedly benefited most from ThaWilsonBlock platform. And Mistah Wilson has every intention on keeping that momentum going.
